KBS Rust Seal
I wanted to protect my floor pans with more than just primer. Old Mustangs are full of holes so if I can seal it up my hope is to keep it from rusting. Especially after all the work I have done on the floor pans.
So I went to my local body shop supply store and asked for POR and they directed me to this stuff. After spending some time discussing it with the tech and reading the material I opened my wallet. It was not cheap and doesn't fit in with the 'Budget' theme but sometimes you have to spend a little. My total cost was under $200 and I have lots left over. I bought the 1 gallon kit. I am still unsure if I would do it again. I think I could get pretty good protection from Rustoleum from HomeDepot for less than $50.
This stuff is pretty easy to put on. Clean & repair metal (you can apply to rust, but I cutting rust out), then apply Aqua Clean, then Rust Blast, then Rust Stop. Easy. The result is a very tough coating. I got the Gloss Black but only because they were out of Satin. It won't really matter because it will be under the Dynamat, Insulation, and carpet. I even got around to putting it under the car but it didn't work so well under there. I will do under the car with Rustoleum next time as I am sure that I will have to do that in the future.
Results are good but bottom line it needs some rough surface (wire wheel does the trick) to stick to or it will come off. If your metal is nice new and smooth this wont work. Enjoy! (pics of both interior and under the car)
