The day I brought my car home I knew that the suspension was shot. The 3 hour drive was fun but the car bounced a lot and even ended up eating my rear tires. The back end of the car bounced so much that the fender cut up my tire. In the picture you can see how low the back end of the car was.
One of my first orders was to MustangsPlus. I order a set of 620 coil springs with a 1" drop, new Grab-A-Track perches, and new 4.5 leaf springs with a normal eye. Then I went to my local part store and bought a set of Monroe stock replacement shocks.
In with the new
I have to say that whole project was pretty easy to put in. I only had problems with one of the leaf springs. The bolts were in there a long time and did not want to come out. I ended up using a zawsaw to cut them and pull out the springs.
Now with everything in place the car rides so much better. I am not sure I like the rear end quite so high but it is better than before. If your suspension is old or original then I suggest you replace it. I am very happy with this project.
