Looks great but.....
Well I got a chance to pick up some 2004 mustang bullit wheels. These are 17x8 with 5.72" backspacing. These wheels will fit on a '66 mustang with 1" spacers in both the front and back of the car. I ran the 245/45r17s in the back and 205/45/17 tires on the front. They look great! But I really couldn't get them to fit right so I decided that fit was more important to me than the look. I want to be able to drive this car hard and not have any rubbing issues so I sold them and the spacers. I broke even on the deal and learned a lot.
Back to basics
Being unhappy with the fit of the 17" bullit rims that I had on my car I went back to these. They are the rims that were on my mustang when I bought it. they look good and give the car a good ride. They are not the look I am going for but there are no rubbing issues with these rims. Now the tires are shot so I won't be running like this for to long.
I am now back to running my 14x6 rims and 205/70r14 tires that I got with the car. My future plans are a set of 15x7 rims and 225/55r15 tires. Enjoy.
