Stock export bracket removal
There is a lot of twisting and flexing in the old mustang cars. To minimize this Ford put in these export braces. There are brackets welded to the shock towers and two support bars are bolted to them and the fire wall. This was a OK fix. If you have added a Export brace like Shelby did then you still have these tabs underneath it. I didn't mind at first but they became a eye sore. I have read about other folks removing them so I figured why not. I decided that I was never going back to the stock brace set up so I decided to remove them. I got out my air chisel and my side grinder. There are only 6 or 7 spot welds on each bracket holding it on. This only took about 5 minutes to do and it looks so much better. This is a simple mod and should look pretty good with the Shelby style Export brace. Click pictures to enlarge. Look for the red arrows.
