Best Bang For The Buck!
Here is a good url on Vintage Mustangs Forums for a thread that I posted about how to get the best bang for the buck. I want to improve my suspension and have a suspension that will handle my hard driving on the street, run on the strip, and if I am lucky a day or two at the track. After getting a lot of opinions and suggestions this is the list I came up with. It wasn't easy and the project is still underway but it is pretty sweet and fits right in with my 'Mustang Budget Restomod'! This is still in progress because so much of these are DIY projects, but I will post 'how tos' on all the DIY stuff that I do. I could never afford anything other than stock replacement parts so if I wanted to have something better I had to get my hands dirty. Lucky for me there are some really good poeple on line and a lot of good ideas to borrow from. That helps me to keep the costs down. So here is the list of what I have now, in progress, and planning on: (click on projects for how to pages)

I have found some very good deals, made some trades, and done work my self along the way. I figure I have under $1,000 in my suspension not including the seats. I will roller my UCAs in the future. So for now, for me and my budget, I have the 'BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK' suspension package.
UPDATE!
I saw a posting from OTR/John on a forum that I read often. He came up with a new idea that he wanted to share. It is called the '1" spring perch move'. Well I will be adding this free mod to my front suspension while I have it apart. Look for a new page in the Suspension section soon!
INSTALLED!
The Best Bang For The Buck Suspension is installed. It took longer than I though and still needs an alignment but I think it is going to be worth the effort. I did some test bounces on the front end with no shocks installed (at the top) and it is very smooth, much smoother than I have had it before. I am pretty excited about the results so far. This was a very big project for me. I am not sure I am going to do the 1" spring perch move for now, but if I do I will be sure to share my results. Looks cool doesn't it?
